چکیده

Optical imaging methods are typically restricted to a resolution of order of the probing light wavelength λp by the Rayleigh diffraction limit. This limit can be circumvented by making use of multiphoton detection of correlated N-photon states, having an effective wavelength λp/N . But the required N-photon detection usually renders these schemes impractical. To overcome this limitation, recently, so-called optical centroid measurements (OCM) have been proposed which replace the multi-photon detectors by an array of single-photon detectors. Complementary to the existing approximate analytical results, we explore the approach using numerical experiments by sampling and analyzing detection events from the initial state wave function. This allows us to quantitatively study the approach also beyond the constraints set by the approximate analytical treatment, to compare different detection strategies, and to analyze other classes of input states.

In this paper we experimentally study the statistical properties of a bright squeezed vacuum state containing up to 10 photons per mode (10 μJ per pulse), produced via high gain parametric down conversion (PDC). The effects of bunching and superbunching of photons were observed for a single mode PDC radiation by second-order intensity correlation function measurements with analog detectors. c ©...

Following the simple observation that the interconnection of a set of quantum optical input-output devices can be specified using structural mode VHSIC Hardware Description Language (VHDL), we demonstrate a computer-aided schematic capture workflow for modeling and simulating multi-component photonic circuits. We describe an algorithm for parsing circuit descriptions to derive quantum equations...

Abstract: This paper is concerned with the analysis of linear quantum optical networks. It provides a systematic approach to the construction a model for a given quantum network in terms of a system of quantum stochastic differential equations. This corresponds to a classical state space model. The linear quantum optical networks under consideration consist of interconnections between optical c...

We present the first experimental observation of quantum fluctuation spectra in two coupled optical cavities with an injected squeezed vacuum light. The quadrature components of the reflected squeezed vacuum spectra are measured by phase sensitive homodyne detector. The experimental results demonstrate coupled-resonator-induced transparency in the quantum regime, in which electromagnetically-in...
